Our guide will meet you at the reception of your hotel. Departure in 4x4 jeeps in the direction of Kalash valley, situated at 45 km distance from Chitral town. Kalash valley is composed of three valleys Bomburet, Rambur and Birir. Majority of population living in these valleys belong to the ethnic group called Kalash or Kafir-Kalash, having their own religious rituals and costumes. This particular culture and belief is totally different from what is being practised in the region for centuries, however, some of their practises are found to be similar to those of Nuristanis, another tribe settled in the north east of Afghanistan. Today, this unique culture and religion is being protected by the government of Pakistan. Lunch. Our halt will be at a Kalash village in Bomburet. Your guide will take you around in the village for a tranquil promenade. Visitors are often surprised to see that most of Kalash people have fair skin complexion, blond hair and clear eyes. It is believed that when Alexander the Great conquered the region in 326 B.C., some of his soldiers refused to accompany him on his way back home. They came here and got married to the locals. Many curious observers from across the world come here to study Kalash culture. This interesting excursion will not only allow you to come closer to Kalash tribes but also enables you to explore different hiking and trekking zones. Return back to hotel in Chitral late in the afternoon. End of our services |
