All hotels and motels mentioned hereunder are classified as per their official ranking. However, their star rating cannot be compared the western norms. To make things easier for our foreign guests, they are advised to remove a star from the hotel rating and it will give them an idea of its ranking as per the standards used in the West.
Inns and Rest Houses in northern highlands do not fall under this general rule. All such properties (shown with the comfort level of one star) are carefully selected by Gandhara Trails with minimum required standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

The PTDC Motel is located in the center of Chitral city and equipped and comfortable rooms. All tourist attractions are within immediate access from here. Being situated in the main bazaar, it offers you the possibility of a tranquil promenade along the river or shopping in the main street. It can be reached by road either from Peshawar or Swat Saidu Shareef in approximately 8 hours drive. The other possibility to get there is by air. There is a daily flight from Peshawar during the season that only takes 40 minutes.

All rooms are nicely decorated and equipped with basic amenities. Since there are not many hotels in the city offering good comfort, this motel is often heavily booked. Visitors are kindly advised to book it through their travel agent well in advance.
