Hunza Karimabad Hotels |
All hotels and motels mentioned hereunder are classified as per their official ranking. However, their star rating cannot be compared the western norms. To make things easier for our foreign guests, they are advised to remove a star from the hotel rating and it will give them an idea of its ranking as per the standards used in the West.
Inns and Rest Houses in northern highlands do not fall under this general rule. All such properties (shown with the comfort level of one star) are carefully selected by Gandhara Trails with minimum required standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
If you have already received our packaged proposal, then please do refer to the hotels mentioned therein. However, if you want to upgrade the category of hotels, feel free to contact us and we will do the needful. If you need specific hotels not mentioned on our website, please let us know their names and we shall reply you accordingly.

Darbar hotel has been conceptualized in its design as a true representative of the local culture and heritage of Hunza region. Both standard and deluxe rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Deluxe rooms: Deluxe Rooms are mostly facing towards the terraced fields of Karimabad, Baltit Fort and Rakaposhi Peak. You can have the view of peaks right from your bed.
Standard rooms: Standard double rooms are very comfortable with some offering views of the Rakaposhi and terraced fields. All double rooms are with a bath and offer complementary toiletries.
Premium rooms: The Royal is situated on the front side of the hotel, overlooking the classy Rakaposhi Peak and 900 years old Baltit Fort. A very spacious room offering a king bed, and dressed with the finest quality cotton sheets and pillows. The modern bathroom is lined with marble, offering a deep fill bath and power shower, with complimentary bath products for you to enjoy.

We are passionate about food. Our food incorporate the finest ingredients, sourced locally, which are then freshly cooked for you, exactly how you like it. Our aim is to use organic, free-range and Fair-trade products wherever possible. At the Hilltop Hotel, we serve traditional cuisine in a traditional way. All the traditional foods are made from apricot oil and local ingredients. Traditional Music is also a part of the traditional style. You can watch the local dancers dancing and also join if you are willing. At the Hilltop Hotel, we use seasonal, fresh, local and where possible, organic ingredients to create our menu. Our food is made fresh on the premises with no need for any processed foods. All our produce and meats are sourced locally from Local butchery.

Surrounded by a snow-capped mountain range, which includes both the mighty Mount Rakaposhi and the magnificent Ulter Glacier, this atmospheric venue offers luxury, culture and adventure. Intimate and exclusive, the Inn offers an array of Pakistani, Chinese and international cuisine, while guests are invited to explore the stunning scenery, either on horseback or by hiking.
Places of local interest include the Altit and Baltit forts, the latter of which is a 900-year-old fort in the Tibetan style, which has been faithfully restored under the auspices of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. The nearby Karimabad Bazaar also offers a treasure-trove of carpets, jewellery and antiques.
The Baltit Maraka Restaurant offers regional, Pakistani, Chinese and international cuisine, the Hunza Lounge offers drinks throughout the day, while evocative evening barbeques are held in the extensive flower gardens.

Hotel offers 20 comfortable rooms with all basic amenities. Hunza Baltit Inn mostly caters international tourists and domestic visitors. The significance of HBI is its location, interior decors, product quality and service standard which truly reflect the traditional hospitality and culture of Hunza. The rooms are well sized with attached bathrooms that have recently been upgraded with marble tiles and quality modern fittings.

The personal touch of hospitality has made many guests wanting to prolong their stay. Eagle’s Nest Hotel is situated in the village of Duikar, which is preached on a 2850 meter high ridge above Altit village in Hunza valley. Eagle’s Nest Hotel is one of the best and most easily accessible viewpoints in the whole of Hunza valley. In 2005, new rooms and a new restaurant were built. All new facilities are in traditional local style, using only natural materials like rock and wood. The rooms and restaurant are also furnished and decorated traditionally at the same time they match all modern standards. All rooms are spacious and separate bathrooms with 24 hours hot water. Each room has a separate balcony with enwalled views of Hunza and the surrounding peaks.

The restaurant is a nice meeting place to have a cup of local mountain tea Tummuro. It offers a broad choice of local Pakistani and western dishes. All meals are prepared with fresh local ingredients. The water used to prepare our food and tea is spring water and is safe to drink. One of the local specialties on the menu is the cheese and walnut chapattis with the typical flavor of apricot oil. As from the rooms, the view from the restaurant is spectacular.

Two small shops are attached with the hotel where you can buy postcards and souvenirs like gemstones, Hunza embroidery, Hunza caps and the famous Hunza dry fruit; apricot, mulberries and walnuts. From the village of Karimabad it is a strenuous but very rewarding 2 hours walk up to Eagle’s Nest Hotel.
