All hotels and motels mentioned hereunder are classified as per their official ranking. However, their star rating cannot be compared the western norms. To make things easier for our foreign guests, they are advised to remove a star from the hotel rating and it will give them an idea of its ranking as per the standards used in the West.
Inns and Rest Houses in northern highlands do not fall under this general rule. All such properties (shown with the comfort level of one star) are carefully selected by Gandhara Trails with minimum required standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Chilas Shangrila Hotel is ideally located on the Karkoram highway, overlooking the mighty Indus river and with the spectacular views on the Karakorams. When one reaches this hotel in a hot summer day and after hours of travelling on the KKH from Swat valley or Besham, is a real relief. Sitting in its lawn in the evening and sipping a cup of tea while admiring the mighty Indus river and the Karakorams, is indeed a moment of delight! It is also considered as base to many trekking itineraries in the region. It is almost the half way from Besham to Hunza or from Besham to Skardu and it makes this place ideal for an overnight stay.
